Our Story

Darryl and Katie met in August, 2004 in Reno, NV. Both had just come back from summer trips and were introduced by a mutual friend. Over an extra-chocolate iced mocha and a chocolate frappuccino at Starbucks, Darryl and Katie felt an instant a connection and were fast friends.

Since that night, Katie and Darryl have been inseperable. Perhaps it was love at first sight. They spent all of thier free time together and built a really strong foundation for a solid relationship.

Just before Christmas 2004, Darryl moved to Knoxville, TN, while Katie stayed in Reno to finish her degree. Katie had one year of school left. Darryl moved to be closer to family and pursue his PhD degree.

Katie and Darryl stayed together through one very difficult year living apart. Katie visited Knoxville during the summer of 2005 and decided that she would move to Knoxville after school.

Katie moved to Knoxville in late December 2005. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and this is true for our relationship. Katie and Darryl were able to reconnect and become more in love than ever once reunited in Tennessee.

Darryl proposed to Katie on July 15, 2006. They had dinner at a very nice Italian restaurant, Naples, in Knoxville, and he asked her to marry him over dessert. Of course she said yes, and he gave her a ring. Now, they greatly look forward to their wedding and spending the rest of their lives together.

Their relationship has always been one of friendship, mutual trust and a deep love. True soulmates and best friends.
